About Coast Mountain Bus Company

Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) operates
conventional buses, smaller
community
shuttles,
SeaBus and,
a fleet of state-of-the-art
trolley buses in Greater
Vancouver, in the largest single transit service area in
Canada.
Our comprehensive service which is grounded in safety,
reliability, community service and innovation attracts 600,000
passenger trips (boardings) per day along 195 bus routes in a
1,800-square-kilometer region that extends from Deep Cove in North
Vancouver to White Rock on the U.S. border and from Maple Ridge in
the Fraser Valley to Point Grey on the Pacific Ocean.
CMBC was created on Apr. 1, 1999 as part of the family of
operating subsidiaries under
TransLink, the South Coast
British Columbia Transportation Authority. As part of the TransLink
family, CMBC joins other subsidiaries, including SkyTrain, West
Coast Express, HandyDART, Albion Ferry and West Vancouver Blue Bus,
to complete a fully integrated transit system.

vision is to excel in
providing service to its customers. The company continues a proud
history of
service the public that dates back to 1890 when the first
electric streetcars were introduced on the streets of
Vancouver.
CMBC values each contribution from its more than 5,200
employees, working directly with the public or behind the
scenes.
CMBC includes approximately 3,350 bus operators and more than
830 maintenance employees working out of seven transit operating
centres.
SeaBus, with its head office in North Vancouver, is operated by
approximately 75 employees, including marine attendants, deck
officers, engineers, coordinators, and office staff.
In addition, approximately 945 employees provide service
planning, scheduling, training, security, and a variety of
administrative services for the transit centres, SeaBus, and
CMBC’s head office located in Surrey, British Columbia.
