SeaBus

SeaBus, Coast Mountain Bus Company’s ferry system, was
the first of its kind in the world. Designed and built in British
Columbia, two SeaBus vessels — Burrard Otter and
Burrard Beaver — were launched in 1977.
This efficient service makes more than 45,000 crossings a year.
Operated by a crew of four, SeaBus travels at a cruising speed of
11.5 knots, crossing the harbour’s 1.75 nautical miles
in 12 minutes. In 90 seconds, 400 SeaBus passengers can exit and
another 400 can board. Within three minutes, SeaBus is on its way
again.
