Greater Vancouver, with a population of two million residents, is
served by 180 bus routes. The 1,800-square kilometre area extends
from Deep Cove in North Vancouver to White Rock near the U.S.A.
border, and from Maple Ridge in the Fraser Valley to Point Grey on
the Pacific Ocean.
Together with other
TransLink subsidiaries
including SkyTrain, West Coast Express, West Vancouver Blue Bus,
HandyDART and Albion Ferry, CMBC completes a fully integrated
transit system.
SeaBus, Coast Mountain Bus Company’s ferry system,
was the first of its kind in the world. Designed and built in
British Columbia, SeaBus vessels were launched in 1977.
SeaBus crosses Vancouver harbour daily, linking Vancouver and
North Vancouver terminals. Each SeaBus is a double-ended catamaran
with aluminium construction, offering high manoeuvrability and
excellent stability.
SeaBus is wheelchair and scooter accessible. Bicycles may also
be boarded.
