To Enjoy a Safe Ride
Here are some tips to make boarding the bus easier and
safe.
Have the exact fare ready - remember operators cannot make
change. • Allow passengers to
leave the bus before boarding.
• Be careful when climbing the first step
(it's a big one), and always use the
handrails. •
Request transfer, if needed, when boarding.
• For your safety, buses do not pick up
passengers after leaving the stop. Running after and
banging a moving bus is extremely dangerous.
These safety tips will help make your ride safer and more
comfortable.
The courtesy seats at the front are reserved for the elderly and
others with special needs, (wheelchairs, scooters, and
strollers). Take the first available seat or move to
the rear of the bus, one seated avoid changing seats.
• Hold on at all times when sitting or
moving through the bus. • Do
not stand in the rear exit stairwell or in front of the red line at
the front of the bus. • Keep
your belongings out of the way of other passengers.
• Watch for tripping hazards.
• Use extra caution with backpacks and
umbrellas.
This information will help you exit the bus
safely.
Remember back doors close automatically, please hold handle and
exit children first. • Watch
for your stop and be prepared to exit.
• Hold on when moving towards the rear
exit. • Leave by the rear doors
whenever possible. • Be sure to
use the handrails when going down the steps.
• Do not step into the stairwell before the
bus comes to a complete stop. •
Be especially careful when stepping off the last step and onto the
curb or street, and move away from the bus.
• If you intend to cross the street after
you exit, watch for traffic moving around the bus. Go to the
crosswalk or corner and wait for the bus to leave.

passenger safety, harassment, and vandalism, your bus operator can
